In consideration of the acceptance of my entry in Chasing Cancellara I agree to observe the race regulations Chasing Cancellara and of the management and organizers of this event (www.chasingcancellara.com).

• I hereby acknowledge that I have sole responsibility for my personal possessions and athletic equipment during the Chasing Cancellara Event, and its related activities. I for myself and my heirs waive and release all claims against the organizers and any other person for loss or damage to objects. This is notapplicable if the damage is subject to grossly careless or wilful act ion on the part of the organizers.

• I hereby attest and verify that I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for this competition and that I will start the race in physically fit conditions.

• I hereby consent to receive, at my own cost, medical treatment that may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident and/or illness during the Chasing Cancellara competition.

• I hereby permit the free use of my name, any images and other audio and video recordings in broadcasts, telecasts, the press, internet and in all types of printed material, including advertisements for this or other similar events, if the images etc. pertain to the Chasing Cancellara.

• I hereby permit the free use of my electronically registered data for co-operation partners of the organization.

• I hereby release the organizers, managers and volunteers of the Chasing Cancellara from any liability claims. Included herein are all direct and indirectdamages and injuries I suffered or in the result of death. This is not applicable, if the damage or injury is subject to grossly careless or wilful action of the organizers, managers and volunteers.

• I hereby release those named in paragraph 6 from any liability against any other person, as far as this other person suffered any damage or injury during the race due to my participation in the Chasing Cancellara.

• Should the event be cancelled at short notice before or during the event, there is no entitlement to compensation for any financial losses incurred in connection with the cancellation. In the case of cancellation during the event, participants are responsible for their own transport/travel to the destination or starting point. The organiser is in no way responsible for assisting participants with transport and will not be liable for any costs associated with this.

• I expressly acknowledge and agree that the participation in the race Chasing Cancellara could be dangerous and involve the risk of serious injury and/or death and/or property damage.

• I hereby confirm that I know that drafting will not be allowed during the bike competition.

• I acknowledge, after inspection of the course including the transition areas, their suitability for my participation in the race. I will immediately inform the race organizers should I detect anything that would negatively affect my safety before or during the event. Despite closed road I have to comply with the official traffic regulation of Switzerland (Strassenverkehrsgesetzt SVG).

• I disclaim against the organizer, its employees and its servants from any compensation for damages to him or a third person that was caused due to the athlete being accompanied in any way up the finish line should by a person not registered for the race. This does not come to action if the damage was caused by gross negligence or malicious intent by the organizer, its employees and its volunteers. In case the damage is suffered by a minor, for whom theathlete has a caretaking obligation, the waiving also applies for those persons. In case of third parties claiming against the organizer, its employees and its volunteers due to the described events of a claim, the athlete commits himself to indemnify and hold harmless the organizer, its employees and its volunteers.

• I acknowledge that I may be required to submit to doping control tests and hereby consent to submit to such tests as may be required. The location of the doping controls will be announced at the event. In default of appearance to the control or in case of refusal would be considered a positive test result. I acknowledge that in the event of the doping test being positive, I shall be disqualified from the event and my positive testing status shall be referred to my relevant controlling body for disciplinary action. I acknowledge that I can be banned from any future Chasing Cancellara races.

• I hereby commit that I do not use any forbidden agents to improve my athletic potential. Furthermore, I guarantee that I only use pharmaceuticals which are prescribed by a doctor and do not in any way alter my performance. I also agree to provide my doctor’s contact details at any stage deemed necessary to the organizer.

• I hereby permit the use of my data for Newsletter mailings and SMS services. My data will not be given to other entities or used for commercial advertisement other than Chasing Cancellara promotions and information. With my registration, I am automatically registered to the Chasing Cancellara Newsletter. It is my responsibility to provide to the race organizer a valid email address. I understand that email is the race official way of communication.

 

The organizer reserves the right to change or modify the basic information or cancel the race because of force majeure or due to official orders. Entry fees will not be refunded in case of cancellation of the race. Further claims cannot be asserted.

 

Swiss law is applicable, place of jurisdiction for possible disputes is the Bezirksgericht Willisau.
